Kat Von D Make Up Tutorial

Hi everyone,

This is my very first make up blog and today I decided to make a Kat Von D makeup tutorial because I've always loved her makeup. So I decided to explain how I got her look and with pretty affordable make up.

Step 1: Since Kat Von D uses fake lashes a lot of the times I used the Ardell Dura Lash to add a little more volume to my natural lashes and I put the lashes on first because your face has to be make up and oil free before application, but they are very easy to manage and they come off easily when you want to remove your makeup.

Step 2: I used the Victorias Secret Pro Face Illuminator which works wonders and I love using it under the base foundation because it makes the face a lot smoother and leaves it glowing.

Step 3: I used a base foundation called Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam in classic ivory. It is a pretty decent foundation and it evens out the skin tone pretty smoothly and its also very lightweight.

Step 4: Concealer is very important to me since I have dark circles under my eyes and I usually use the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. It has pretty good coverage and I use it everyday and it is lightweight just like the foundation which is ideal for everyday use.

Step 5: Kat Von D always has very defined and bold eyebrows, I usually use a brow pencil from Avon Glimmersticks Brow Definer in a shade of brown because it is very bold and the color stays on forever. :) make sure you make the eyebrow go longer than where your eye ends because they seem more healthy and bold that way.

Step 6: For the eyeshadow I used 3 different shades to create a dramatic look. First I used the Sedona Lace palette in the color bronze for the entire eyelid and I used the dark gray for the crease of my eye to create depth and also kind of winged it out in the outer corner of my eye to create a dramatic effect. For the corner of my eyes I used the Urban Decay Fun Pallete with the color bronze as well but this color is very bright and pretty.

Step 7: I applied a black eyeliner very close to the lash line. You can use any kind of eyeliner you got, and smuge the top with an eyeshadow brush to create a more soft look, also add eyeliner on the water line. After the eyeliner I applied the Maybelline Falsies Volume Mascara on both bottom and top lashes ( approx 2 coats).

Step 8: Last but not least I used the ELF palette for the bronzer ( used the lighter shade for the entire face for a glowing sun kissed effect) and the darker shade to define the cheekbones since Kat does have a very defined bone structure. I added the ELF lipstick color Posh in red as a finishing touch since we know Kat loves wearing red lipstick.

Thank you guys and I hope you enjoyed my first makeup blog, here's a picture of how the makeup turned out.
